So my brother's wedding is this Saturday, how fast time flies... =)
Everything is mostly done, there's just a couple of last minute stuff I have to get done in the next couple of days. And then, on Friday night/Saturday, it's just going with the flow (probably a really heavy current) all the way.
We're all going to be exhausted, but I'm pretty sure we're all going to be really glad to have gotten it all over with, and then life can get back to normal. LOL!
Well...until it starts all over again.
Anyway... my own personal pledge to myself, after Saturday's over, I'm going to take one full day off, no studies, no working, no business, nothing! Except just laying in bed and reading fairy-tales. No non-fiction! =P
Sorry for being MIA for almost two weeks, guys! I was allergic to the stoopid sunblock lotion that I put on when I went fishing, and was down with rashes for the last couple of weeks, too miserable to blog.
Seriously, if you could have seen my rashes, you'd shudder in disgust, coz my skin looked exactly like a lizards'!
Thankfully, I'm much much better now, no more lizard skin! =) But my skin has begun to peel from the sunburn (yeah, I still got burned...!).
Anyway, anyway, let's get on to better topics. Like, *squeals* the little cutie puppy boy boy, Lucky!!
I've (finally) got pix!!! Look look look!
*emits series of high pitched squeals*
Isn't he adorable?! Awww.....
I also have a few pictures of Baby, it's really not easy getting pictures of her because she's afraid of the camera (coz of the flash), but I got some of her while she was out in the garden playing with Lucky, though they're not really clear...
I really wish Baby isn't so camera-shy. I have so few pictures of her, much less good ones. =(
Baby's afraid of flashes because she's terrified of thunder and flashes of lightning associates with thunder. Does anyone know how to cure your dog of a phobia of thunderstorms?
As promised, new pix!
My brother and Mel recently got registered as husband and wife. =) Here are the pix:
Preparing the documents for signing
Aww...so sweet.
The newly wedded and the in-laws.
The wedding ceremony's in June... My brother and his new wife are preparing all the details before then, and I guess they're almost done with all the preparations. But me... it's not my wedding, but I still feel kinda unprepared for it. LOL!
Anyway...
Last Friday we went fishing with some friends at Semenyih. Look at the scenery!
Lush and green...sigh...
Almost like a Thomas Kinkade painting. Ok, not really...but, still... =)
The little 'isle' we camped on.
Camwhoring while waiting for the fish to bite
More camwhoring...
Reeling in the fishes...
The fishes we caught:
Big one!
My first catch of the day!
Lone's
And yes, they are all different fishes! LOL!
This is a ruhu(sp?)
This is a catfish. And the others we caught were mostly pacu(sp?).
It was great great fun, and we've converted Kelvin to a fisherman too, I think. It's his first time fishing and he caught 6 altogether, Lone caught 6 too, my brother caught 4, mostly coz he was busy taking pix for us, and Ceaser caught 3. My dad caught about 4-5?
And *ahem*, as for me... I caught 7! LOL! I was the fisherman of the day! Yayyy!
*does a little skip* =)
I love fishing!
OMG! I haven't blogged in two weeks?!
I didn't even realize!
So sorry! But I've been really busy (yeah I always say that). I spent the week before finishing up the final assignments in my course, and this week I'm busy with a new member of my family.
We got a new puppy! He's a Pomeranian, born on 7/7/07! We had to do the obvious; we named him Lucky. =)
Sorry I haven't got any pix right now. They're all on my brother's camera and I haven't had time to upload them just yet. He's the cutest little puppy you could ever imagine, though taking care of him has been taking up a LOT of my time this week. I hardly had time to do anything else, except play with him, train him, feed him, hold him, clean him...etc.
Poor Baby is so jealous, she hasn't been herself lately. She's been really morose and anxious that we don't care about her anymore. But of course we do! Baby's the best! It's just that you can't pick her up and carry her around coz she's so big and heavy, but we still give her the same amount of attention we normally do. In fact, we give her more, because we're worried that she's getting so sad.
Hmm... maybe she's just acting sad so that we'll give her more attention. Smart dog, that Baby...
Well, anyway, I'm so glad I finished all my assignments before we got Lucky, else I probably wouldn't have the time at all to do anything! I haven't done anything productive at all this week!
I need a puppysitter! Who wants to volunteer?!
I was in Singapore on Mother's day last month, and this month I was in Bangkok on Father's day, so I didn't really get to celebrate those days with my parents properly.
So I decided to treat them this past Sunday, to a very delicious French dinner at Le Bouchon in KL, as our own personal Parent's day!
I had an ulterior motive of course, I wanted to eat foie gras! Foie gras, which I had heard so much about, but never tasted.
You can imagine the anticipation.
I was kinda worried that I'd build my expectations up too high, after everything I've heard about it, and that it might not taste as good as everyone has been saying. But oh, let me tell you...it was absolutely heaven!
How do I even begin to describe it? It's almost like...like catching snowflakes in your mouth and letting them dissolve on your tongue but not quite.... coz the foie gras isn't snow, nor is it cold... but oh... I can't describe it! You need to taste it for yourself!
It's like seeing music or tasting color, you feel the foie gras with your whole body, not just the tongue, and all of your senses open up and you experience something so wonderfully... orgasmic.
*Sighz*
Will you just look at it? It's making me salivate right now... It looks so good, but the taste! Oh, the taste!
I ordered lamb for the main course, which by the way, was also really estatically delicious! I have so spoilt myself for other foods now... It was the 'tender-est' lamb I have ever tasted.
My dad ordered the beef with foie gras, which was just as delicious and the most 'tender-est' beef I've ever tasted!
My mum got the salmon, which was pretty good too. I don't like cooked salmon though, so I didn't really pay much attention to it. But it was good! For salmon. ;P
It was a very, very satisfying dinner, and although really expensive, it was so worth it!
And of course, I had the best company ever. My parents!!
HAPPY PARENTS' DAY!! You guys are the bestest, bestest parents any girl could ever wish for!! Muah!! Love you sooooooo much!!
You have no idea how long my family has been preparing to move! We must be the slowest movers in the world!
We've been waiting to move for almost, I dunno... 3 years?!
My friends have found houses and packed and moved and unpacked and settled down, and I'm still here!
But finally, I'm moving, next week to be exact. Finally!
We haven't finished packing everything yet. These couple of days are kinda hectic, trying to pack all my stuff...
I had no idea I had so many books! I spent *days* packing up my stuff, and so far only my BOOKS have been packed! Not my clothes, not my whatever other stuff I have...
Hmm...maybe I don't really have anything except books...
Well, anyway, I spent *days* packing, and have only finished with my books! What do you think that means?
I have too many books! LOL!
Tomorrow is another packing day... Whew! Maybe this time I can get started on something other than books.
I'm really excited about moving. What kind of anticipation you think has built up in me, waiting for THREE years to move. Of course I'm excited!
I'll have lots of pix of my new room for you when I move in. I think I'm gonna love it!
My puppy Baby hasn't been feeling well for the last week. She'd been acting weird and anxious, which of course made *us* anxious. She had been hiding in corners in the house, carrying her squeaky toy everywhere she went, and getting fidgety when the toy was out of her sight. She wasn't as hyper as she usually was, and didn't rush to let us pet her whenever we called, which is highly unusual because she was the most 'manja' dog, and always always wanted attention.
I suspected that she may be pregnant, so I went online to check the symptoms and it seemed that signs of pregnancy were 'nesting' behaviour and 'adopting a toy', which Baby certainly had, hiding in particular corners with her toy and not wanting to come out.
However, I did note that it could be just false pregnancy, which wasn't uncommon, and since Baby wasn't eating much, it was the more likely case.
I took her to the vet today for a check up, to see if she was pregnant and/or sick, since she was getting very thin after not eating much for the last couple of days. She was actually going to get spayed this month, but if she's pregnant obviously I couldn't do that right now.
I was a little confused as to how I felt about her being pregnant, or not. On the one hand, I loved little puppies, and I was sure Baby's babies would be beautiful and have great personalities, and I know a couple of friends who might want Baby's pups too. On the other hand, if Baby has too many pups, I didn't know if I could find homes for all of them, or if I'd even be able to let them go, and it would give me a whole lot more work to care for them which I don't have the time for right now. So I kinda wanted puppies, but I kinda didn't want them either. Confused, huh.
Well, it's a moot point anyway, coz she's not pregnant. It was just a hormonal imbalance thing, and the vet gave me some antibiotics to help clear up her uterus and to get her appetite back up. I'm a little relieved that she's not pregnant, and kinda disappointed at the same time. LOL! Can't make up my mind!
But anyway, as long as Baby gets better and gets back to her normal self in a couple of days, I'm happy. She's the most beautiful little thing in the world, who's ridiculously camera-shy, so I don't have many good pix of her, she's always turning away as I'm taking the pic.
Anyone has any idea how to cure her of that? =P
To the funnest colleague!!
To the most talented bandleader and guitarist!!
To the most patient guitar teacher!!
To the best friend!!
Thank you for making my life more colorful! I love you lots! Muaks! Hugs! Smooches! Kisses! etc! LOL! =)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Yayy! My brother just came back from Canada today, after visiting Alberta for five days with the Waltonians, and then going to Vancouver to stay with Allie and Pius for two weeks!
I was psyched, couldn't wait to see what he got me from there. Yup! I totally didn't miss him at all, I just wanted my souvenirs!
LOL! Just joking! ;P
But seriously, other than missing him, I was really excited to see what he got me, coz before he boarded the plane to come home, he sms-ed us and said I'd be really happy to see what he got for me. And Allie had also given him a book to pass to me, and we all know I'm a sucker for books. =P
We got there early, so I passed the time reading and singing along to the radio. But I'll so totally remember my brother's face when he saw us at the arrival gates. He was sooooo happy! And so glad to be home. And then he said again, Betty's gonna be so happy when she sees what I have for her. =D
Soooooooo....without keeping you guys in suspense anymore. Here are the pictures! =D

On the way to pick up bro from the airport!

Me in the backseat

The maple syrup he brought back for us! Yummy! And...

My absolute favourite maple syrup cookies!!!! Delicious!

This T-shirt from Edmonton, which is a lot cooler and more original than one which says, "My brother went to Edmonton and all he got me was this lousy T-shirt." LOL! =D
And this is from my Aunt in Vancouver, an Abercrombie tee that I really really adore! Thanks, Aunt Alice! Muah!
Eat your heart out, American Idol fans! I'm gonna have so much fun with this. Wheeeee!! =D
