These last couple of weeks have been really tiring!
I'm the most disorganized person I know, and it always seems like everytime I finally get organized, something comes along which makes me have to reorganize again.... I'm not good at this!!! I need a personal assistant! LOL!
Anyway, these couple of weeks after the Money N You seminar was really busy, because our band, SideWalk Bandits are now practising twice a week, so I'm going every Wednesday and Sunday, and it's til late. I just got back from a jam session, in fact, and I'm all tired out.
I'm also giving a talk at my dad's office tomorrow(Thursday), about anti-aging, how to live long and stay young and healthy, and I've been spending the last week preparing for it. Do come if you're interested, it's at 8.30 pm at Kuchai Entreprenuer's Park, call me for details, or call 03-79873151.
Yesterday there was a Money N You completion and reunion night as well, and I accompanied Lone there. Busy, busy, as a bee. Monday was another busy day.... we went on a day trip, and then Lone got sick....
Lotsa things happening... I'll be glad when I get the chance to breathe!
I haven't even had the chance to study this week. It seems that now my studies need to take a backseat as I'm concentrating more on my 'jobs'.
It's actually ok because it's meant to be a self-study course for working adults, and we get 5 years to complete it, but I really wanted to finish it fast, I wanted to finish it in one year. Which meant that I was actually going to study full-time, and work part-time. But now that I'm working full-time (actually, many jobs part-time), I guess I may have to settle for finishing the course in two years? Or maybe even three?
No...3 years is too long, at the most, I'd take 2 and a half years...
Priorities, priorities....
The fact is, there are a lot of changes happening, and which will continue to happen. And if we continue working towards our goals, it seems likely that my priorities will keep changing, and I may not even have the time to study anymore.
I'm taking everyday one at a time and see where it leads me. I'm not worried though, because I'll be happy with whatever happens. I've got lotsa choices. =)

Job Vacancies
Posted by Hazellie at 1:15 PMLast weekend I was at a 3 and a half day seminar with Lone. I went to it before and it was *EXHAUSTING*, and now as a graduate, I get to go again for free. So I went to review it and keep Lone company.
It would've been ok if I just went like for a couple of hours each day, but I stayed throughout the whole thing, and it was really tiring. I didn't get enough sleep, so now I have a huge pimple on my nose!!! Ugghhh!
Anyway.... more updates later, right now I just wanted to ask if anyone is looking for a job? Or has a friend who's looking for a job?
My dad's company is looking for:
1> Account Executive, with LCCI and above, minimum of 2 years
experience, and is able to handle full-set accounts.
2> Marketing Executive, with a diploma or higher qualification, who is
able to travel when required.
3> General Clerk, with SPM qualifications and above, and has PC
knowledge.
You can call 03-79873151 if you're interested or if you have a friend who is interested.
Please do pass the word around. Thanks so much! =)

A Couple of Announcements
Posted by Hazellie at 9:15 PMI'm baaaaccckk!
=)
It was a great seminar, and I had fun, but I missed everyone soooo damn much!!
If I said that the last two weeks seemed like much longer while I was reading The China Study, the last four days have been *eternity*! They were jam-packed full of information and life lessons like you wouldn't believe. For some of us, it was a life-changing event... for me, it was an affirmation of what I was already doing (because I had *my* life-changing event a while ago =P).
I'm proud of the people who came up with this and do this day-in, day-out for other people. It's a beautiful vocation when you dedicate your life to helping others and making the world a better place. I'm nowhere near where they are right now, so I respect these people so much.
It's not that I don't want to help people and make the world a better place, but I couldn't do it the way they do. They really get in your face about it, and it's quite personal because you meet the people you help, personally, so when you fail to see positive change, sometimes you might take it personally and feel down.
I'm not sure I'm strong enough to do that, but I'd like to help people and change the world in a more subtle way. You know, like swinging a watch left and right in front of their eyes and asking them to do what I say...
*grin*
Anyways, it was *TIRING*! Three and a half FULL days! With barely enough time to sleep or eat or bathe or anything! It was like a boot camp! I was so exhausted that I slept through the whole day today.
Well, almost. I spent the rest of the day studying when I wasn't sleeping.
What? What was that?
Yup. Studying. I am officially a student again!!!
Yayyyyy! Surprise! =)
I enrolled in a A-level certificate course in nutrition and after I finish this I'm gonna go for the degree course. I'm so excited about being a student again!
I decided to take it up after I started reading The China Study, that's what I meant when I said so much had changed in the two weeks of reading the book.
I had always been interested in health studies and I'd been reading up about it on my own, I even mentioned just *very* recently that I wanted to see if there was a way I could get a degree just by studying on my own and taking the exams from a university.
And guess what? The Law of Attraction works again!! Ba-da-boom!
I found a course that allowed me to study on my own, and send in assignments and exams and get a degree! =)
I am one happy camper.
Life is just wonderful after I started consciously using the Law of Attraction. If you guys are interested in it too, click on the SGR banner on the side bar. Doncha wish your life was great like mine? ;)
Ok, more later. I'm gonna go back to studying now. Ta!

Absence
Posted by Hazellie at 5:10 PMI'll be at a four-day seminar from tomorrow until Sunday night, and I probably won't have internet access there. Even if I did, I wouldn't have the time to go online coz it's a three and a half *full* days (we're starting at 6pm tomorrow).
So that means...
Sighz. Yup, internet withdrawal symptoms again. =(
Ok, I'm sure I can survive the four days without internet, since they're gonna be keeping us busy. But...it's not gonna be easy.
Don't miss me too much, you guys.
=(

Back to Work!
Posted by Hazellie at 10:32 PMSo...it's Monday, and it's back to work!
It was a slow day at work, as it usually is after a long holiday week, everybody's still in party mode. I kinda didn't get much sleep last night, and I'm not Hokkien so I didn't even have an excuse (I stayed up reading), so while waking up this morning wasn't that difficult, staying awake at work was a *real* challenge.
But I made it! Almost... I came home a little earlier, but after I've gotten everything done. It wasn't a very productive day though.
The weekends were really exciting! LOL! But I'm not gonna go into that now, coz I want to make sure I've got all the pix first. It's unfair to always tell the story and promise the pix later and never deliver.
Sorry la... Sometimes too busy, sometimes too lazy, sometimes just forgetful...
I'll have better posts and pix once I get my time organized ya. =)
Anyway, although work has started, we've still got one more week and more importantly, one more weekend! of CNY. So work hard, play hard, and have a very happy and prosperous new year!

I'm a Musical Genius!!!
Posted by Hazellie at 10:59 PMWell, kind of... =)
A couple of weeks ago, my division asked me to write a song for them, just for our D&D night performance.
It's not anything big, each division had to perform something. Last year, we got together on the day of the event itself and put something together spontaneously. This year, our division manager was smart. She knew we had musically-inclined individuals in the division: Willie, Lone, and I were all band-mates, and 'division-mates' as well. Willie was known for his performance in the highly acclaimed Christian musical, Drunk Before Dawn, and he was also a very good musician. Lone was known for his exceptional guitar skills, and his talent in writing music. I was known as the previous Walton Idol, and for writing songs too.
So...Our manager got Willie to be in charge of our division performance, with the idea that we write our own original song for the performance. And while the whole performance consists of other acts, not just the song, Lone and I were put in charge of writing the song itself...(like, obviously you knew that was where I was going, right?)
Anyway, the conception of the song started with me first. I had to write the lyrics, and then Lone would do the music, then we would do the arrangement together.
I wrote the lyrics, without a melody, which is actually the first time I'm doing it this way. Normally, I'd write the lyrics and melody together, but Lone was a whole lot better with melodies, so I decided to let him do the melody with the music. Trust me, I've heard his melodies, and I've heard mine, and I like his better. LOL!
So I wrote the lyrics knowing that I might have to change some minor words here and there later, to fit into Lone's melody better, and of course, with that idea in mind, I just wrote some really simple lyrics that fit into our purpose and meaning. And also at the time, I just thought, hey, just write it and get that part over with, coz it's no big deal anyway, and I won't have to keep thinking about getting it done later.
I wrote it in less than an hour (just the lyrics, mind you, which is really easy), and in a state of indifference, gave it to Lone to put the melody in. I was pretty much ambivalent about my lyrics, it wasn't stuff which made prize-winning poems or whatever. It was as literal as they come. Even now, I still don't think it's any good for anything other than as our division song. But as our division song, I think it's pretty good. *ahem* =P
Then it was Lone's turn to work on the song, putting the melody and music in. Well, I don't know much about his process, except that he let it stew for a long time before he actually got down to work on it. He finally set aside one night, and came up with really good music and melody. =D
And then he showed it to me, and then we got to work fixing it up. We changed some parts of the melody, I changed a little bit of the lyrics to make it fit, he worked on the guitar sounds and technique, we added the harmonizing sounds and effects, I added another part to add depth to the song, and viola! We have a hit song! =D
Ok, we don't actually have a hit song, but it could be one! =P It's a great song, it's a fun song, with a catchy tune and inspiring lyrics (for our divison! =P), and I ended up being really proud of my contribution to it!
Well, of course I know Lone has a part in it, etc. But my point of this whole post is that I'm proud of my own contribution to it, and I'm really satisfied and happy with what Lone and I have accomplished with this song. I've never truly written a *finished* song before, because I didn't have the musical knowledge that Lone does, all I could do is write the lyrics and melody, and imagine how it would sound in my head, but never manifest it with music. This is the first time I finished a song, with Lone's part in it being very important of course! =)
I'm proud of the song, I'm proud of our work, and I'm proud of Lone's and my ability to work together to produce something that's so good. I'm bias, of course. =P But it's really good!! I'm not just saying that! =D But then again, my judgement of it is probably skewed towards the more favorable side. And then again, I'm usually my own worst critic too!
Well, the only way for anyone else to judge is to hear it for themselves. Which our whole company is going to do this coming Wednesday night. Part of the wonderment of the song is having many voices singing it together, with lots of different parts for backup, harmonizing, different texture of voice, tone, etc. It definitely won't be the same if only one person sings it, it'd be a whole different arrangement of the song entirely. Which brings me back to, I'm so proud of our arrangement! =D
I'm feeling pretty smug and self-satisfied right now. So yeah, maybe I'm boasting, but I'm entitled to! =D

All in a Day's Work
Posted by Hazellie at 7:17 PMI just got home from work and I'm all tired out. We had a new launch yesterday, and everything went crazy coz everyone was calling everyone, and within two hours we sold the whole phase out! But because we knew that there'd be another phase, (we were just waiting for the price) we told our clients to put in reservations anyway, and we'd wait to see if there were more available units.
So...got up this morning, supposedly to go to the office coz there was a meeting, we had 10 new exit offers! But I couldn't make it coz I had to see my client before he went outstation, so I went to see my client in Cheras, presented the project, went home for lunch, then I had to meet another client to present the same project in Sunway, *deep breath* then I had to go back to the office in KL to submit the cheques for the reservations, met another client to return her document package, and then I got stuck in the jam all the way home. Sighz....
Travelling is tiring. Especially here in the wonderful land of traffic jams. ;P
Not to mention, I slept late because I was preparing all the materials for presenting to my clients today. That's one of the features of this job; every time we have a new launch in a new area, we have to acquaint ourselves with all the information in record time, or everything will be all sold out before you even get your hands on it.
The good thing about it is that most of our existing clients already know our concept, and they've seen our track records, and they trust our company and our product, so the moment we tell them there's a new launch in a great place, they say "Buy!" first, and show them the details later. LOL!
The bad thing is that clients who are new to our company and our concept usually miss out on the best projects, because they take too long to think about it. But of course, the moment they become our clients, they make quick decisions for any new launches after that. =D
It was a really *really* tiring day, but I feel accomplished. =D And tomorrow is another busy day, we're all preparing for a company event this weekend, and it's going to be a really good one. 10 projects with offers, all at once! Woo....I'm impressed! LOL!
Anyway, now that I'm back home, finally, I've stuck my butt on to my chair I'm am not leaving it. Unless it's to get stuck to my bed instead. LOL!

Plan to succeed
Posted by Hazellie at 12:30 AMPeople say that when you fail to plan, you plan to fail. I had forgotten that. I haven't been planning well at all, and I'm not happy with my progress right now. I seem to be going through a cycle at work...
I'd get a few great months, then hit a dry period, and lose my momentum and get stuck for a while. Then I'll start adapting, and getting new ideas, and then I'd have another few more great months, then the dry period again, the cycle continues.
It's getting better now though, I guess I've learned, and I'm bouncing back more quickly than before now. My dry periods used to last for 2-3 months, which is *really* bad, but now it's just for a couple of weeks and then I have to start digging myself out of my hole. I guess I'm starting to not take things too personally anymore, so guess what, I *am* improving. Which is really good. BUT, I don't want anymore dry periods, no matter if it's only for a few days even. I don't want this cycle to continue, I don't want to lose my momentum. I want to keep on going, keep on driving myself, getting ideas everyday, working well everyday, getting up in the morning with a game plan everyday and knowing what I need to do.
I need to plan. Not just on a day to day basis, but on a week to week, and month to month, and even year to year. I need to know what's my next move, and if plan A doesn't work, what's plan B.
See, sparks are flying in my head now. Lightbulbs are lighting up on top of my head. Blek. Hope it continues.

Not worth it!
Posted by Hazellie at 5:31 PMAnd to top it all off, there wasn't even that many people at the exhibition!
Poor poor feet of mine...:(
Posted by Hazellie at 12:38 AMI think I'm PMS-ing very very badly right now, and I'm not even having my period. Nope, it's due to lack of sleep. I'm very easily irritated today coz the last three days I haven't sleep much, *and* the biggest reason of all: MY FEET HURT!
Arghhhh! I've been wearing my mum's heels for the past few weeks coz mine wore out, and I didn't feel like shopping, as usual. So I kept putting off shopping for new shoes til thursday. My mum's heels are higher than mine, and they hurt, but other than the occasionally walking, I'm sitting most of the time so it doesn't bother me so much.
But the last few days at the KL Convention Center really hurt my feet bad. I had to stand or walk around for 3 hours straight, and before that I had to walk from the office to KLCC, and after that back again. By the time it was time to go home, my feet were sore and swollen and covered in bandages. Seriously!
I have bunions but they're not really serious, I'm just not supposed to wear closed-toed shoes, but Friday I wore my mum's high heels and my feet and calves hurt so bad, so I thought I'd try wearing closed-toed flats. I've worn them before for a short period and it wasn't that bad, but Saturday I had to cover both my feet in bandages, and I could feel the pain in the *bones* of my feet.
You can imagine, by the time Sunday came around, I was almost about to cry. I wore my mum's heels, they hurt. Then I wore flats, and they still hurt. I had no idea if I had any other appropriate shoe to wear. So I wore my casual heels, and wore long pants to cover them a little. My feet were already sore, so they still hurt, but at least it's not as bad as if I wore my mum's heels or the flats again.
I am *traumatized* from this experience, and I swear from now on, no matter how much I hate shopping, I will make buying the right shoes my first priority! Even if my client wants to see me and give me a million dollars!
.....Ok, if it's a million dollars, I'll buy the shoes after I get the money. :P LOL! But otherwise, my feet comes first!
I'm getting a foot massage as soon as next weekend's seminar is over.

Time, or lack of
Posted by Hazellie at 9:55 PMI just realized that it's August now, and I've only read 17 books this year! OMG! And I didn't even read a single book in June and July! What is wrong with me?
I think I'm having a reader's block. I mean, I use to devour books like mad! I read 130 books in 2004, and had to make a resolution to read only 50 books last year, but I read 52. :P Heheh!
But it's August now, and I've only read 17 books?! And nothing at all in June and July? Oh my gosh...it's not for lack of trying. I'm actually in the middle of a few books now:
1. The Dark Tower Book 1 - Stephen King
2. Bronte's Story - Bronte Cullis and Steve Bibb
3. Unnatural Acts - Lucy Taylor
I'm halfway through all of them, but not a single one of them calls to me to finish them quick. It's not that they're boring either...they're all kind of interesting, but I don't get that feeling anymore, of being on the edge of my seat, wondering what's going to happen next, and staying up til six in the morning to finish the book. Is it me? Or have I just been choosing the wrong books for this phase in my life?
I really feel like digging through my pile of books this minute and finding a book that I can devour tonight itself, but....*sigh* I have to work tomorrow. In fact, I have a looooooong weekend ahead of me.
The KLCC exhibition is this weekend, and I'm on duty. So there goes the weekend! And I'm working next weekend too. So there goes that weekend too! *double sigh*
Ok, it's actually not that bad, I love my job, but it has its ups and downs. I'm just trying to keep riding the highs, and taking the lows as they come(Yes, it's the Michelle Branch & Santana song). And it's really tiring having to work week after week after week, including weekends, and sometimes late into the night. The rewards are great, but still, it's tiring!
But then again, it's my own choice. I work hard because I want to. I could slack off and nobody would say a word, except that if I do slack off, I don't get the rewards. And I want them! Badly, badly, badly.
I really do miss my slack off days though, when I was in college, and had all my time at my disposal. I use to sneakily read my books in the lecture halls and pretend I was reading the textbooks... The only time I ever did my assignments or study for my exams was at the last minute. And I did pretty well too, mind you. :P And I had more time to maintain my website too. I had a new design for it every 3 months! The only complaint I had then was that I didn't have enough to do. Now I don't have enough time to do the things I really want to do. :(
I'm working hard, and saving up, and investing so that I can become a multi-millionaire. Then I *will* be able to do whatever I want to do. :D
Alright then...*sigh* I'll go to work tomorrow with this thought in my mind. :)

Motivation
Posted by Hazellie at 10:48 AMI forgot to mention yesterday that I was sick, that's why I had so much time on my hands to explore the web and find my blogs again. :P I'm feeling good today though, and I'll be going to the office in a while, but I just wanted to make it a habit to blog whenever I have the slightest amount of time. You know, instead of playing sudoku all the time...LOL!
Anyway, there's a couple of things I need to catch up on when I get to the office, coz I missed the last couple of days. But it's never too hard or too demanding of my time, this job of mine. :D I love my job.
Btw, my division is going on a trip to PD this Sunday and staying a night. I love trips with my division, everyone is so fun and always happy, it really doesn't matter where we go, it's the company that counts. And the last trip we had was to Genting Highlands, right after I came back from China, and that was a blast too! Can't wait!
No wonder I got well in record time! I don't want to miss the trip! LOL!
